East Tawas State Dock
Fishing Photos 2009 |
| This is a series of photographs taken in 2009 on or around the East Tawas State Dock. In the winter, fish are caught through the ice. In the spring, the fish move along the shore to spawn. In the summer, perch, pike and bass can be caught off the dock. In the fall, the annual whitefish run occurs when the whitefish move close to shore. | The main whitefish spawning run usually begins in mid-November and goes into early to mid December. Fishermen catch the whitefish using wax worms and minnows. Some fishermen will spend the entire night on the dock. Along with the whitefish, fishermen also catch Perch, Lake Trout, Walleye, Burbot and Pike. |
